Work-integrated Learning

The BTh incorporates work-integrated learning in a practicum unit in second year. The practicum provides students with the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills they acquire in the course into a ministry context. The practicum is one semester in duration and typically involves work in a church as a student minister. Students will be supervised by an experienced member of the ministry team and will receive support from the College in the experience. Students will observe ministry in practice and be given opportunity to perform ministry that might include preaching, leading services, leading small groups, training lay leaders, and 1-on-1 personal ministry. Students will reflect on the ministry practice they observe as well as their own practice and receive feedback from their supervisor about their performance.
