02.2 Other Faculty
Emeritus faculty are retired members of the full-time faculty who continue to make a substantial contribution to the life of the College through research and occasional teaching. Such people may be appointed Emeritus Faculty by the Governing Board on the nomination of the Principal. These appointments are life-time appointments.
Visiting faculty are those invited by the head of an academic department, with the approval of the Principal, to take part in the College’s teaching program, usually for a minimum of one hour per week for a semester. Such invitations need to be renewed each year and are reported in advance to the Governing Board through the Principal’s report. Such people might be graduates of the College with particular skills or knowledge, overseas visitors spending time in Sydney or at the College, or others who are qualified in one way or other to teach in the unit concerned.
Adjunct faculty are a special category of ministry practitioner comprised of those who contribute to the programs for which the Ministry Department are responsible. They are invited to become adjunct faculty by the head of the Ministry Department, with the approval of the Principal.
Guests include those who are invited to assist in exegetical seminars etc. or one-off events. These are invited by the lecturer with the approval of the head of the academic department and, where deemed appropriate, the Principal.
