2. Purpose of the DBT
Moore College began the DBT in 2017 with a vision of providing an accredited, online diploma course to train those who would not otherwise be able to undertake theological education. Our vision is to see the DBT grow to include more Australian and overseas students, to equip more men and women of all ages to better know, understand, and serve our Lord in their daily lives, work, and ministries.
Because the DBT is accredited by the Australian Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) as a diploma-level course, we are required to follow diploma-level standards. It is not an ‘easy’ course, though we do mean for it to be accessible to students who can read, think, and write at a basic tertiary level.
The DBT is more demanding than the Preliminary Theological Certificate (PTC, our unaccredited certificate course). And it is at a lower level than the face-to-face Advanced Diploma course taught alongside the first year of the Bachelor of Divinity / Bachelor of Theology courses.
