4. Tech Stuff

Browser - microsoft.com/en-us/edge

Because there is a good chance that you may already use other Microsoft products (Hotmail, live etc.), we recommend using a separate browser for your work in the DBT. This helps keep login sessions separated. A helpful one that seems to play well with the platforms we use in the DBT is Microsoft Edge. However, you can still use any browser you wish.

The MOD – mod.moore.edu.au

The Mod is the place where students access course content. It is a Moodle platform.

Tutor Sandbox - Course: Tutor Sandbox (moore.edu.au)

This Moodle 'Course' on the MOD contains various dummy moodle activities where you can play around with the activities.

Course Resources - mod.moore.edu.au/course/view.php?id=22

The Course Resources page is generally aimed at the students. However, it is well worth checking out so that you can help students or make recommendations. This is also where you will be able to access the Student Handbook and the Course Glossary.

Microsoft Teams – teams.microsoft.com

Teams is a Microsoft platform that we use for our communication between tutors, the manager, and the coordinator. The coordinator will post weekly announcements to all tutors on Teams. There is a smartphone app you can download if you wish.

Tutor email – webmail.moore.edu.au

You will be given a Moore College email address. This email address is the only way to communicate with the Registrar’s Department, and it is where they will send your marker reports. The and the Tutor Coordinator may also contact you there for academic misconduct or student requests for extensions. Please also check your email daily, as students sometimes email their tutors, and you have a 24-hour turnaround to respond. You may instal the Outlook app on your device for your DBT work.
