The degree is offered in part-time mode because the 0.5 FTE load is distributed, at minimum, over a calendar year, i.e. two semesters.

Full Library membership, including borrowing privileges, is extended to part-time students for the duration of each semester in which they are enrolled. For further details see 06.2 The Library .
